MA in Creative Practice Leeds Arts University 2017–2019 BA (Hons) in Landscape Design Manchester Metropolitan University 1986–1991
The APA referencing style is the one I am most familiar with. I like it, as it is relatively easy to follow.
During my MA in Creative Practice, I discovered my love of research and passion for writing. Proofreading seemed like the ideal opportunity to work in a field closely allied to academia. Training and working in the field of landscape design helped me develop an analytical and methodical approach to problem solving. This formula works well in proofreading, along with attention to detail. Proofreading facilitates working autonomously and collaboratively, which I enjoy.
My current role involves digitizing and cataloging a local archive’s photographic collection. I am technically minded, and have experience in using a variety of computer applications. As an artist, I delivered creative workshops and worked with mixed ability groups of people. Working in landscape architecture, I developed the ability to communicate effectively and work well with others. My undergraduate degree and recent MA gave me experience in academic writing.
While I was completing my MA, I realized how much I enjoyed the process of writing and composing. I also found it deeply satisfying to complete a piece that was coherent and connected effortlessly to the body of writing as a whole. I am looking forward to editing a variety of material covering my areas of interest, which range from the natural world to the arts.

There are so many, but a book I really enjoyed reading recently was The Dutch House by Ann Patchett.
When I'm not proofreading, I am usually either thinking about, researching, or sketching ideas for my creative work. I am often also found foraging for materials or running with my dog.
The first read gives me an idea of the style and subject, and I highlight errors or areas of uncertainty. If a section is difficult to grasp, I copy and paste it into a separate document to edit.
