My favorite is APA because it’s the one I’m most familiar with.
My lifelong love for music has given me a rich history of study, performance, teaching, and writing (including both music composition and musical theater scripts). I possess an eye for detail and a persistent desire for accuracy and quality performance. These qualities have also always been evident in my writing endeavors, and I love both the process and results of ensuring the highest quality written product. I truly enjoy assisting others to produce excellent written communication. This is why professional proofreading seemed like the perfect addition to my career pursuits.
Even before my career as a professional proofreader, I’ve always been the one with the "red pen." I used to help my children during their school years to edit their papers to best express their thoughts and write accurately. I’ve always excelled at writing and find pleasure in clarity and accuracy. Reading has always been one of my favorite activities, and I catch myself detecting typographical errors and issues with clarity, so you could say I’m a proofreader by nature.
I enjoy reading and learning very much. Fiction especially holds me captive. I also appreciate accuracy, clarity, and well-expressed thoughts. I simply cannot read without being aware of what I would correct and change to improve a text’s readability, just like I can’t listen to someone sing without thinking about how, as a voice teacher, I would help them to improve the quality of their performance!

The Holy Bible. I don't think you want for me to list all of the writers!
I love to sing, play the piano, lead worship at church, and teach voice and piano lessons. I also love to connect with other people, both family and friends. And if I can cook or bake in the process, all the better!
I find that if I’m reading a work of some length, particularly fiction, it’s helpful to read a section straight through first, then go back through with a proofreading mindset. This helps me to focus on the proofreading without being distracted by the content.
